Home Renovation Customer Case Study

We were recently contacted by a lovely couple who were looking for a full home renovation. An existing customer of ours, they had found us reliable in the past and so were more than happy for us to take on this large domestic project for them. The brief was to create an incredibly deluxe, spacious family home and so comfort and quality were key and had to be at the top of our agenda. From concept to completion, Direct Heating Installations fully project managed everything, from all building works to the finished flooring and decorating. We laid over 90 sqm of Karndean flooring in the conservatory, hallway, utility, kitchen and dining area before finally appointing a team of first-class decorators to apply the finishing touches to the newly renovated home.     

A very enjoyable project to work on, it was a complete transformation and one that our clients were absolutely thrilled with. Here’s how Direct Heating Installations achieved this high-end home renovation.   

Kitchen, Utility and Dining Room

As you can see from the before and after photos, this is a huge transformation of this once small area. After removing the old kitchen units, worktops and appliances we made a start on the new joinery, plumbing and electrical work across the three areas. Once the new plumbing was in place and a full rewire completed, the base and wall units for the kitchen and utility area were supplied and fixed into place. The kitchen area was then finished off with an American style fridge, stunning Silestone worktops in a grey quartz finish and a Philips Hue LED lighting system which can be controlled by any smart device or Alexa. The work has made a massive difference to our clients available living space and is a really stunning change wouldn’t you agree?

Wet Room and En-suite

Using bespoke 10mm safety glass, a wall hung vanity unit and WC, a full refurbishment was carried out on our client’s main bathroom which means a brand new wet room can now be enjoyed by the whole family. A four piece suite was also then integrated into the client’s en-suite bathroom which features a free-standing bath, fitted furniture, WC and shower.

Heating and Hot Water system

On to the heating and hot-water system now where we started by removing and disposing of the old and inefficient system. We then supplied and installed a Worcester Bosch Greenstar 40CDI high energy and efficiency condensing conventional boiler. This model was a great choice for the project because not only is it SEDBUK A rated, the central heating output is now 9.1-40kw. Along with an efficient new boiler, a Worcester Bosch vertical flue, stainless steel unvented cylinder and magnetic filtration device were also integrated into the new heating system. We then installed 100m2 of retrofit underfloor heating and 7 Stelrad Plan radiators in all areas where there wasn’t to be any underfloor heating. HIVE heating controls were also included throughout this home renovation, giving our clients complete control of the heating and hot water systems via their smart devices.
